Between now and December 20, ReStore is collecting nonperishable food for the Manna Food Center located just down the street from us in Gaithersburg. Each month, the Manna Food Center feeds approximately 3,300 people in our community who meet income requirements; and half of those recipients are children.
The holidays are an especially difficult time for people struggling to put food on the table. Many in our community are blessed with the basics we need and can find ourselves distracted by the shopping and gift-giving of the Christmas season. In the midst of this hectic time, let’s stop to remember that what some of us may take for granted is a blessing to someone less fortunate.
If you’re planning to visit ReStore, or are just in the neighborhood, please bring a nonperishable food item like cereal, pasta, rice, beans, peanut butter, soup, or canned fruit, vegetables, meat or tuna. It may seem simple to you, but it will mean a lot to someone in need. Learn more about the Manna Food Center at www.mannafood.org.
