Restyling Vintage Furniture

There’s so much you can do with recycled furniture. The lines and styles of many classic pieces still look great today. The main features that usually need updating are paint color and patterns in the case of upholstered furniture.

The Montgomery County ReStore receives many donations of great-looking furniture. Most of the time donated furniture needs nothing but a new home. Some pieces still look great as they are, but are perfect for a do-it-yourselfer who loves to give a modern look to classic chairs, dressers, desks, tables, or whatever they might find.

We like what Elizabeth & Co. in Westminster, Md. does with recycled furniture. Check out their behind-the-scenes look at using chalk paint on an old dresser. And Friday’s post shows what the ladies can do with a vintage buffet and an old desk from their local mission store. What have you done with your vintage finds?

  1. Thanks for sharing. I just starting searching for vintage finds at my local goodwill center. I have found some neat things so far. I will have to visit the restore since I’m in the area.
