Recycling: Be Productive and Social

We came across this blog and post this week and thought it had some great ideas to encourage recycling and make it more fun. Recycling usually seems like one of those household chores like taking out the trash or vacuuming the rug. But, it doesn’t have to be that way.

DC Recycler suggests combining all those little items that can be recycled but hardly seem worth it in very small quantities with the recycling of friends and neighbors. Just get people you know who are into recycling involved; decide which small items you’re going to recycle, like corks, batteries, denim, small water filters, etc.; designate a point person for each particular project, and you’re ready to go!

In addition to doing something productive and helping the environment, you’ll probably get to know some neighbors better and reconnect with folks you haven’t seen in a while. Sounds like a win for everyone. Check out more recycling news and tips!
