STEP 1: THE DESK
The possibilities for an upcycled home office desk are endless! Repurpose a ReStore find like this sewing machine or redo a worn out piece with a great color enamel paint.
Here’s a great how to on the desk above from Goodwill Glam’s blog post: Roadkill Desk: Before and After.
STEP 2: THE CHAIR
This chair will make you want to get to work! OK… maybe not, but it will definitely brighten any home office space. Thanks for the great Desk Chair Transformation post How Joyful!
STEP 3: STORAGE
Let’s face it, stainless steel filing cabinets are not attractive. But… they are also a total blank canvas for some great creative make overs. You can pick up a filing cabinet for next to nothing at your local Habitat ReStore and make it your own with paint, wallpaper or a custom top.
STEP 4: ORGANIZATION
Why buy new shelving when repurposing materials can be so much cheaper, easier and attractive! Here are some creative storage ideas that may not immediately come to mind. Use old shutters to help organize your desk space. Here’s a Learn & Do video from Martha Stewart Living.
Don’t go retail for your bookshelves! Check out BuzzFeed’s blog post ‘25 Awesome DIY Ideas For Bookshelves‘ using repurposed materials found in any Habitat ReStore.
